what does "source volid" mean in Cinder? [closed]

I have created cinder- volume using api. in response parameter we are getting source volid as null what it means? what is source volid ?

You can find all the options to create volume by running the below command:-

cinder help create

source_volid stands for source volume id. You can create a volume whose source is other volume. In such case source_volid will contain id of source volume.

how can we create a volume from an existing volume?

you can use "--source-volid <source-vol id="">" option of cinder create command to create a volume from an existing volume.
