Today, after some time, I tried to make an "installation" using devstack. First I tried to visit devstack.org , I was redirected to http://docs.openstack.org/developer/d... and I noticed that much of the useful documentation disappeared.

Then I tried to use devstack and, as far as I understand, the behavior has dramatically changed: localrc has been substituted by local.conf but local.conf does not work properly, many modules are installed by default while they were not installed, etc...

Does anybody know what is going on?

The DevStack documentation has been radically changes, yes. It has been converted to RST format and is now found directly in the DevStack repo itself in doc/source. To get a local copy run "tox -edocs" then load doc/build/html/index.html in a browser. Hint: to skip the shocco step that formats the shell scripts you can run the Sphinx doc build step directly: "python setup.py build_sphinx".

The devstack.org website is now an alias into the docs.openstack.org site, there were a few growing pains during the transition but everything should have been taken care by now.

Hello, Initially, Devstack uses localrc file for customization and configuration settings. Now it uses master configuration file i.e. local.conf for installation purpose. You can refer following link for more information related to installation and configuration settings in local.conf file.

Thanks for you answer, the link looks good. I'm just wondering if the documentation I find at the link you suggest includes all the information I used to find at the old address.I noticed that some variables I used are not described (MYSQL_PASSWORD, RABBIT_PASSWORD, SERVICE_TOKEN, OFFLINE).

Recently devstack website got merged to docs.openstack.org site. And few modifications are also done in the way of execution. Try to place your configuration in localrc file and run your execution.

If you still face any issues, then post those issues.
