Hi,

Is there any tutorial or small sample code how to properly listen to notifications in OpenStack. I know I can listen directly to Rabbit using kombu (like in question https://ask.openstack.org/en/question/2224/novaquantum-notifications-in-rabbitmq/ ), but maybe there's a tutorial (or at least class documentation) somewhere for using openstack.common to create an event driven service acting on notifications.

Every project seems to do it a bit differently right now…

I think your best bet would be to look into StackTach developed by Rackspace but available to the community:

https://github.com/rackerlabs/stacktach

http://stacktach.readthedocs.org/en/l...

https://www.openstack.org/summit/open...

Even if you are not wanting to use StackTach, it can provide the examples you seek since the code is available and viewable.
