Does ceilometer support get metric data from multiple openstack datacenters? [closed]

Dear stackers,

We have setup two openstack instances in two datacenters with shared keystone service, we are planning to use ceilometer to do billing and monitoring.

Anyone can help to let us know how to configure ceilometer to get data from the two datacenters and save to one mongo db?

Thanks a million!

After some research we found the answer, as for the scenario that deploying multiple OpenStack instances with shared keystone service via multi region, we can use one ceilometer to get the data from these OpenStack instances.Just follow the steps here:

1. install ceilometer-central, ceilometer-agent-compute in all OpenStack compute nodes
2. For ceilometer.conf on each compute node, set the rabbitmq_host to the same host that ceilometer server uses.
3. For ceilometer.conf on each compute node,in [service_credentials] section set the os_auth_url to the keystone auth url eg: http://keystone_host:5000/v2.0
4. For ceilometer.conf in earch compute node, add os_region_name in [service_credentials] section
5. restart the ceilometer-central and ceilometer-agent-compute services

example ceilometer.conf file in region dc1 and dc2.

ceilometer.conf in region dc1

...
[service_credentials]
os_tenant_name = service
os_password = password
os_username = ceilometer
os_auth_url=http://192.85.180.10:5000/v2.0
os_region_name=dc1
...

ceilometer.conf in region dc2

...
[service_credentials]
os_tenant_name = service
os_password = password
os_username = ceilometer
os_auth_url=http://192.85.180.10:5000/v2.0
os_region_name=dc2
...

hope that helps!
