Hi,

I bring up the openstack thru devstack and I couldn't locate the log in /var/logs/.

Did I need to configure anything to save the log?

Thanks.

Hi, You need to include the following in your nova.conf. Additionally, for devstack, some of the logs that are relevant for you are in /opt/devstack. You may also check the running screen to see what's happening in your environment.

verbose=True

syslog=True

Hope that helps.

The devstack will not be found in /var/log. You can enable logging in openrc/localrc file by adding the following lines.

LOGFILE=/opt/stack/logs/stack.sh.log
VERBOSE=True
LOG_COLOR=True
SCREEN_LOGDIR=/opt/stack/logs

Alternatively if you want to view the logs you can use screens. Execute ./rejoin-stack.sh, and after that use command ctrl+a+<number> number of the screen logs that you want to view. If you want to detach screen use ctrl+a+d. Please follow this link for more clear understanding and screenshots view.
