I am performing my first Openstack Icehouse install on CentOS 6.5. My Controller Node, (w Compute Controller Services) was installed using icehouse-3 following these instructions and from this repo

http://docs.openstack.org/icehouse/install-guide/install/yum/content/basics-packages.html (http://docs.openstack.org/icehouse/in...)

yum install http://repos.fedorapeople.org/repos/openstack/openstack-icehouse/rdo-release-icehouse-3.noarch.rpm

Upon attempting to install a separate Compute Node, I ran into "No package openstack-nova-compute available."

Following the instructions here I now have icehouse-4 (rdo-release-icehouse-4.noarch) on my Compute Node. (icehouse3 still on my controller node) https://ask.openstack.org/en/question/32671/install-openstack-nova-compute-problem/ (https://ask.openstack.org/en/question...)

sudo yum update -y
sudo yum install -y http://rdo.fedorapeople.org/rdo-release.rpm

How do I gracefully upgrade my Controller Node to icehouse-4 given I have already installed identity services, image services and compute?

Do I uninstall ice-house3 first, ice-house4 over top or do I need to start over?

Regards, Jay

There's not really a way to "uninstall" Icehouse (or other OpenStack). You can either start over, or attempt to upgrade in place. The documentation for upgrading in place is here: http://docs.openstack.org/openstack-o...
