Hi Mehdi,

Check your logs and put the suspected sections on your post to aim others help you find your solution. Nova-api was stopped due to a reason that is not mentioned on your post. Check the following logs:

Also run the following command and paste the output on your post:

nova-manage service list

According to your log(nova-compute.log), the problem is related to rabbitmq server. At first check wether rabbitmq is up or down:

rabbitmqctl status

If the service was at runing state, and the output be something like here, go to the next step. If not, try to start this service.

After you sure that the rabbitmq server is start, you should test the rabbitmq authentication. So, to make sure about authentication mechanism, change the RabbitMQ guest password:

sudo rabbitmqctl change_password guest password

Restart RabbitMQ service:

sudo service rabbitmq restart

If the problem won't fixed, then execute:

sudo rabbitmqctl change-password guest guest

Restart it again:

sudo service rabbitmq restart

If again the problem wont fixed by the above steps, check your firewall rules:

iptables-save | grep 5672

Make sure that the port is open by your firewall.

As your nova-compute.log output shows, your nova-compute machine can not connect to message queue server(AMPQ server). To fix this issue go to the /etc/nova/nova.conf file, and check the # RABBITMQ section. Nova-compute could not connect to rabbitmq server due to your misconfiguration.

I configured as following : (nova.conf)

Ok, in my case, while I am trying this on Ubuntu 14.04 and Juno on the below command I would get the status as below and the logs were frozen.

service nova-api start

nova-api stop/waiting

For some strange reason nova-api had gone missing, reinstalling it fixed the problem.
