I have followed the documentation on installing the Telemetry component and I cannot get stay started. The error I am getting in the ceilometer-api.log is the following:

CRITICAL ceilometer [-] TypeError: unsupported type for timedelta seconds component: str

Double checked my configuration, but doesn't seem to have any issues.

A bit of an Openstack beginner here, and I am not sure how to get pass this error.

Thanks

The problem is the revocation_cache_time setting needs to be set or else it treats it as a string. Simply uncomment the setting in the /etc/ceilometer/ceilometer.conf file and restart the service.
