sahara part of Juno or icehouse?

asked 2014-10-07 00:10:12 -0600

Is Sahara part of the core projects in Juno like the same status of trove, heat, etc.

Juno release note not showing sahara as integrated project. https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/Relea... (I know it is not final yet)

However sahara is showing as a integrated project at this site - https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/Juno_...

Also this site shows some sahara activities for Juno-1-2-3. http://status.openstack.org/release/

But one of the Q&A says it is kind of part of icehouse release https://ask.openstack.org/en/question...

But the icehouse release note does not show anything about sahara https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/Relea...

The source of truth for all programs/projects is here. In particular:

Data processing service:
  codename: Sahara
  ptl: Sergey Lukjanov (SergeyLukjanov)
  mission: >
To provide a scalable data processing stack and associated management
    interfaces.
  url: https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/Sahara
  projects:
    - repo: openstack/sahara
      incubated-since: icehouse
      integrated-since: juno
    - repo: openstack/python-saharaclient
    - repo: openstack/sahara-dashboard
    - repo: openstack/sahara-extra
    - repo: openstack/sahara-image-elements
    - repo: openstack/sahara-specs

Take note of the line that reads integrated-since: juno.

Sahara was graduated at Mar 18, 2014 ( https://github.com/openstack/governan... ) which corresponds to late Icehouse ( https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/Releases ). Most documentation and testing procedures are usually prepared in advance. That's why most of Icehouse stuff doesn't mention Sahara as integrated. It is safe to consider Sahara as integrated starting from Juno.
