I know it's not recommended to change the default 5Gb MAX_FILE_SIZE , but doing some experiments and need to change the MAX_FILE_SIZE to 10Gb, do I need to restart some swift services for the the new changes to take effect?

Thanks!

It depends on the file and where you edit it. If you are editing the swift-proxy.conf file then you can restart swift-proxy to load the configuration changes. Swift-proxy is probably going to be the service you need to restart.

Thanks for the reply, really appreciate it. But I am not editing the swift-proxy.conf, instead I am editing the swift.conf file which swift service to restart for the new value to take effect?

Unless there is a new service that was added you should still be able to restart swift-proxy. See which services you have in /etc/init.d/ that have "swift" in them.
