Same problem here... we have dashboard running separated from other openstack services, and we have only Swift + Keystone (both grizzly) in our cloud. Keystone backend is sql, and shows just the two mentioned before. Is it possible to run dashboard without Compute?

So I manage to solve this... I assume that you are not using nova on your swift cluster. I don't know if this is the correct way of doing this, but I've changed the file

horizon/openstack_dashboard/dashboards/project/dashboard.py

and comment out line 64 (removing 'BasePanels'). That seems to work for me, and now I'm free from "Invalid service catalog service: compute" msgs. I hope it'll work for you too.

https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/Horizon Requirements • Python 2.6 or 2.7 (not compatible with python 3.0). • A Keystone (identity and authentication service) endpoint. • A Compute (Nova) endpoint, with all compute services (API, scheduler, compute, network, etc.) running. • An Image Store (Glance) endpoint.
