ironic node "Provisioning State" is stuck in "active" and the bare metal node's state is "System running in UEFI"

ironic conductor logs : http://pastebin.com/DB5PPQ6v

Bare metal Node console : http://snag.gy/JvLMm.jpg

How to fix this?

I made a mistake by using the same glance images as both deploy & user images. I fixed this by extracting kernel & initrd images from user image and uploading with glance. Boot provision worked fine :)

I've had a similar problem and the way I fixed it was:

  • Turned off the ironic-conductor service (e.g. 'service ironic-conductor stop' on the ironic conductor node)
  • Logged on via IPMI to the actual node and turned the power off
  • Did a reset of the state in nova to active (http://docs.openstack.org/admin-guide-cloud/content/reset-state.html (link))
  • Restarted the ironic-conductor service

The ironic conductor appeared to learn the state of the node and updated everything accordingly.

I didn't have exactly the same problem as you but hopefully this can help.
