Hello all, I'm just getting started with installing Openstack icehouse on 3 node (following the offical openstack installation guide). I'm on the step of running "apt-get install rabbitmq-server" to install rabbitmq on the controller. I'm getting the error "ERROR: epmd error for host "controller": address (cannot connect to host/port)"

Below is more info on the error output. I changed the hostname of the controller node from the default "ubuntu" to "controller". Setting up rabbitmq-server (3.2.4-1) ... * Starting message broker rabbitmq-server * FAILED - check /var/log/rabbitmq/startup_{log, _err} [fail] invoke-rc.d: initscript rabbitmq-server, action "start" failed. dpkg: error processing package rabbitmq-server (--configure): subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 Errors were encountered while processing: rabbitmq-server E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

Any help is greatly apprecaited!

Found my issue - my eth0 interface was down after a reboot and had to restart it. that resolved my rabbbitmq problem for now but facing the next issue with logging in MYSQL using the new password I created.

Hi, Your system IP and bind address from /etc/mysql/my.cnf file should be same. Also set the keys under the [mysqld] section correctly as in the guide. Then restart the mysql service. This will solve your problem.
