Hello, Im setting up the 2 node archtecture as per these docs: http://docs.openstack.org/trunk/install-guide/install/apt/content/basics-networking-nova.html (http://docs.openstack.org/trunk/insta...)

This is my controller node /etc/network/interfaces :

auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

auto eth0
iface eth0 inet static
            address 10.0.0.11
            netmask 255.255.255.0
            gateway 10.0.0.1

and on my compute node:

auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

auto eth0
iface eth0 inet static
            address 10.0.0.31
            netmask 255.255.255.0
            gateway 10.0.0.1

auto eth1
iface eth1 inet manual
up ip link set dev $IFACE up
down ip link set dev $IFACE down

I have made the appropriate changes in the hosts file aswell.

Now on the compute node I can ping controller and it will ping 10.0.0.11 and receive bytes back. The controller node can also ping compute1 and receive bytes back from 10.0.0.31.

However neither node can ping opentstack.org or google.ca, If i comment out eth1 and connect using DHCP, I can ping the internet.

Am I suppose to add a 3rd interface for internet connectivity? Or should it work as described in the documentation? I apologize if this is a silly question I am not very strong with networking.
