Hi,

I have installed OpenStack Icehouse on a single node using devstack on Ubuntu 12.10. I have created a volume of 1GB using dashboard. I want this volume to be attached to an instance.

The processing of attaching the volume to the instance throws no error, however the volume is not actually attached to the instance i.e. when I go to the instance properties in Overview tab, there is still "no volumes attached " under the Volumes section.

What could be the problem?

Thanks

Please provide the error message and appropriate logs. You'll probably want the nova logs, but it may be a cinder or horizon issue.

There is no error message displayed while attaching the volume. However, it is something very strange that there are no log files saved on the machine for any of the Openstack services installed.

Note: I have installed OpenStack via Devstack in which case log files are saved in /opt/stack/logs. There is no such folder created named 'log'. I have properly added the logging settings in localrc file.
