Hi All, I am installing Openstack (using Ubuntu 14.x) and currently configuring Controller node in VMware virtual environment. While installing and configuring Glance, I am getting below error. Can you please help how can I resolve it?

alok@controller:~$ sudo glance-manage db_sync
2014-09-03 09:23:03.598 2354 CRITICAL glance [-] ValueError: Tables "migrate_version" have non utf8 collation, please make sure all tables are CHARSET=utf8

Thanks

please try adding following to my.cnf and recreating the database .

collation-server = utf8_general_ci

init-connect = 'SET NAMES utf8'

character-set-server = utf8

mysql> alter table migrate_version convert to character set utf8 collate utf8_unicode_ci; mysql> flush privileges; mysql> quit #
