Heat Autoscaling: Adaptation actions on existing servers

Hi,

I would like to instantiate a Hadoop cluster with Heat and autoscaling. I was wondering if there is a way to trigger adaptation actions on existing servers (i.e. the master node) to add new nodes to the conf/slaves file or remove them in the case of downscaling. More generally speaking, I'm looking for a way to have existing servers to be notified in case of alarm events to execute commands in response to them. I haven't found anything related to this in the documentation, but surely there must be some sort of support for that?

Thanks!

We met the same problem here, we are trying to set up a elastic dataprocessing platform using sahara with ceilometer + heat, please update your findings if you got break through and we will do the same. Thanks!

Hi,

We have had requests for this, but no one has had the time to implement it unfortunately. https://blueprints.launchpad.net/heat...

(please feel free to add to that bp if it doesn't quite meet your needs)
