Trying to configure cinder on Icehouse with the StorwizeSVCDriver driver. The V7000 connection protocol is FC. The volume log constantly shows:

2014-08-31 18:08:34.415 31848 INFO cinder.volume.manager [-] Updating volume status
2014-08-31 18:08:34.416 31848 WARNING cinder.volume.manager [-] Unable to update stats, StorwizeSVCDriver -1.2.5 driver is uninitialized.

Volumes can not be created. The scheduler logs shows:

Cinder with LVM was working fine.

You may try to test this option

Cinder provides a volume_clear option which by default will dd zeros across the entire lv when you delete it. This unfortunately can take an extremely long time. If you don't need this security, you can set the following in your cinder.conf file to skip it:

volume_clear = none
