Using keystone to authenticate my application

Now keystone is used to authentication openstack services like nova, swift. Can my application use keystone API to authenticate user e.g. login, in my application?

I'd suggest you to look at how nova, swift, glance etc use keystone and imitate that behaviour with your code in your application.

Thanks your comment. As you suggest, we are taking Nova, Swift as reference. Do you think it is a proper approach to use keystone API to authenticate user of our application? Also, do you know any parties working on similar thing?
