Hi, Im having a hard time tying to make cinder work on my 2 nodes setup. I have cinder-api scheduler and volume installed on my controller node with LVM.

On the scheduler logs I have this error

ERROR cinder.scheduler.filters.capacity_filter [] Free capacity not set: volume node info collection broken.
ERROR cinder.scheduler.flows.create_volume [] Failed to schedule_create_volume: No valid host was found.

And an other one on the volume log:

WARNING cinder.volume.manager [-] Unable to update stats, LVMISCSIDriver -2.0.0 driver is uninitialized.

my cinder.conf is

rootwrap_config = /etc/cinder/rootwrap.conf
api_paste_confg = /etc/cinder/api-paste.ini
iscsi_helper = tgtadm
volume_name_template = volume-%s
volume_group = cinder-volume    #this is the correct vg name
verbose = True
debug = True
auth_strategy = keystone
state_path = /var/lib/cinder
lock_path = /var/lock/cinder
volumes_dir = /var/lib/cinder/volumes

glance_host = testosctrl1
volume_driver = cinder.volume.drivers.lvm.LVMISCSIDriver

#rpc, keystone and db config ..

The create request is working but then the volume shows as status 'error'

Does anyone might have a hint of what could be wrong ?

There was a problem with the configuration of the storage in cinder.conf. You need to configure 'enabled_backends=lvm-1' .And configure storage info like this:

[lvm-1] iscsi_helper = lioadm volume_group = cinder-volume iscsi_ip_address = volume_driver = cinder.volume.drivers.lvm.LVMVolumeDriver volumes_dir = /var/lib/cinder/volumes iscsi_protocol = iscsi volume_backend_name = lvm
