If I have several Openstack installations. Could Openstack generate same tenant id on different Openstack installations?

OpenStack suggets some possibilities. I think you should take a look on 'Cells' and 'Regions'.

You will have some maybe different installation but with a parent cell. So you will have (if it's configured) the same tenant_id on all cells.

Probably my question wasn't clear. I am not interested to have same tenant id, on contrary I need to make sure that openstack does not generate same id in separate openstack installations.

Tenant id is generated by keystone. To answer your question, there is a possibility different keystone instances can generate same tenantId. It is not different from 2 persons in 2 different houses having same name.

If you have 2 different openstack installation and both of them use different keystone, it doesn't matter even if both keystone generates same tenantId.

What problem do you want to avoid?
