So I followed these instructions here: http://openstack.redhat.com/Quickstart At first when I ran packstack --allinone it was asking me for a password at the hosts' details step, but after I entered it wrong 3 times I got this error:

Installing:
Clean Up [ DONE ]
Setting up ssh keys [ DONE ]
Discovering hosts' details [ ERROR ]

ERROR : Failed to run remote script, stdout:
stderr: ssh_exchange_identification: Connection closed by remote host

Please check log file /var/tmp/packstack/20140806-085857-hM11zt/openstack-setup.log for more information

Here is the tail of the setup.log

File "/usr/lib/python2.6/site-packages/packstack/installer/setup_controller.py", line 68, in runAllSequences
    sequence.run(config=self.CONF, messages=self.MESSAGES)
File "/usr/lib/python2.6/site-packages/packstack/installer/core/sequences.py", line 98, in run
    step.run(config=config, messages=messages)
File "/usr/lib/python2.6/site-packages/packstack/installer/core/sequences.py", line 44, in run
    raise SequenceError(str(ex))
SequenceError: Failed to run remote script, stdout:
stderr: ssh_exchange_identification: Connection closed by remote host

It seems if I could enter the password again that I could fix it. Any ideas? Thanks!

Since it's all in one the "remote host" should be the local host. You could do some of the following: Check the code for what it's doing when it checks hosts, verify the port that it is connecting to, Flush IPtables, see if there are any errors in /var/log/messages.

After that start looking at sshd to see what the configuration is. Is it using an alternate port that the script isn't aware of.

Check out hosts.allow/hosts.deny:
