We have 50 SQL 2008 servers running in different physical servers. Now we have made a centralized DB server and now want to connect our physical server (SQL DB) one by one as an instance of centralized DB... Hardware is not an issue we just want to overcome our licensing cost. but all the DB servers are live so i m much focused and need assistance thanks JAMI

Good question you should take a look to the bare metal driver of openstack. In you case you have a cluster of bare metal machines they will be handle as vm's.

Or you mean, you will have one compute node they only handle your running db vm's ? If that your case you can use the aggregate function. You can split your openstack compute nodes in different aggregates and after that you can on the boot/migration of your instances decide explicitely which aggregat should be use. Thats a nice feature because you can say ' on these SSD-Compute-Nodes should run only DB instances' and so on.

Hope it helps Cheers Heiko
