I added a new compute node :

root@compute-server02:/etc/nova# nova-manage service list
Binary Host Zone Status State Updated_At
nova-consoleauth control-server                       internal         enabled    :-)   2013-08-22 11:12:22
nova-scheduler   control-server                       internal         enabled    :-)   2013-08-22 11:12:19
nova-conductor   control-server                       internal         enabled    :-)   2013-08-22 11:12:15
nova-cert        control-server                       internal         enabled    :-)   2013-08-22 11:12:21
nova-compute     compute-server01                     nova             enabled    :-)   2013-08-22 11:12:20
nova-compute     compute-server02                     nova             enabled    :-)   2013-08-22 11:12:23

How to force/select specific compute node while launching a new VM within the dashboard ? Also , I do not see a list of my compute nodes in the dashboard . How to fix it ?

As of grizzly release, I don't think horizon provides you an option to choose the compute node.

The only way, I believe, to force/select the compute node is by instructing nova to do so using the CLI. The command to do this is, refering from the documentation:

$ nova boot --image <uuid> --flavor m1.tiny --key_name test --availability-zone nova:server2

Please correct me if this is wrong/outdated.
