Instance creation is bringing my machine down. How can I troubleshoot the problem? What are the log files I need to look into?

I am using DevStack to setup OpenStack on an Ubuntu 32-bit installation.

Every time I create an instance, the machine goes down in the middle of it.

How can I troubleshoot the problem? What are the log files I need to look into?

There is onlt /var/log/apache2/ and no other logs in /var/log that are related to openstack.

You need to add a parameter 'SCREEN_LOGDIR' in your localrc (and point it to a directory) and run stack.sh. If you don't want to re-run stack.sh, you will have to add a parameter 'log_dir' to each service's conf file and restart its services (for example add it in nova.conf and restart all nova services like n-api, n-sch, n-cpu, etc).
