I have OpenStack running on a single node (DevStack), I have launched two instances, but non of them are showing in when I try

nova list

it shows an empty table. Also I cannot ssh them from my terminal, It shows

no route to host

I am unable to understand why my nova is not able to grab the instances, even though it is showing in Horizon.

The one reason I can think of is: you have created the VMs on Horizon by logging in with one user say "admin". And you are running nova list after sourcing another user say "demo" user's credentials. Please check with which user you have created the VMs and try nova list with the same user.

thanks kashyapk for the quick reply, I have created instances from Horizon using both (admin and demo) users. and I am trying to access it from my terminal using my user(shubham) with/without sudo privleges. if its because of the user, then why does ssh says no route to host ? Thanks in advance.!!

Can you give command $nova list --all-tenants

nova list --all-tenants is still giving an empty table. Maybe nova uses the network bridge to fetch information, and our ssh connection uses the same bridge. that is why even I am not able to access the same. If that the case, please guide me how to configure the devstack bridge . thanks
