Looking to deploy dashboard to manage swift and identity management mainly. Ie to create and view tenants and users that can access swift.

is this possible with only swift and keystone running or do you require compute for dashboard/Horizon??

running grizzly

Definitely possible to run swift and keystone without compute.

For the dashboard, you just need to remove the panels you don't want. Refer to the Customizing Horizon documentation. For Keystone, you'll need to make sure that only services you need are in the catalogue.

come to think of it, the dashboard might be smart enough to respond based on what it finds in the service catalogue ... what do you have in your keystone service catalogue endpoints?

Ok I posted but didn't put them here will send the through but basicly identity and swift are end points in the keystone db services table has admin demo and one other I think.

Tom has already answered this question, one can run swift with dashboard with providing correct endpoints. I am closing this question considering it answered.

https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/Horizon

Requirements • Python 2.6 or 2.7 (not compatible with python 3.0). • A Keystone (identity and authentication service) endpoint. • A Compute (Nova) endpoint, with all compute services (API, scheduler, compute, network, etc.) running. • An Image Store (Glance) endpoint.
