Hi,

I installed OpenStack from git clone https://github.com/openstack-dev/devstack.git (https://github.com/openstack-dev/devs...)

My local.conf file looks like:

[[local|localrc]]

enable_service bigswitch_floodlight

Q_PLUGIN=bigswitch_floodlight

FLAT_INTERFACE=eth0

ADMIN_PASSWORD=password

MYSQL_PASSWORD=password

RABBIT_PASSWORD=password

SERVICE_PASSWORD=password

SERVICE_TOKEN=password

BS_FL_CONTROLLERS_PORT=127.0.0.1:6633

BS_FL_CONTROLLER_TIMEOUT=10

I have modified the file /etc/neutron/neutron.conf :

core_plugin = neutron.plugins.bigswitch.plugin.NeutronRestProxyV2

allow_overlapping_ips = False

/etc/nova/nova.conf as:

libvirt_vif_type=ethernet

libvirt_vif_driver=nova.virt.libvirt.vif.LibvirtHybridOVSBridgeDriver

/etc/neutron/plugins/bigswitch/restproxy.ini as:

[DATABASE]

connection = mysql://root:password@127.0.0.1/restproxy_neutron

[RESTPROXY]

servers=127.0.0.1:6633

serverauth=root:password

serverssl=False

I have added an openVSwitch and am running the floodlight-master controller. However, while creating instances from the dashboard, I'm getting the error:

 **No valid host was found**

I ran the command nova-manage service list & got the following output:

Binary Host Zone Status State Updated_At

nova-conductor   sdn3                                 internal         enabled    :-)   2014-07-21 06:38:42

nova-cert        sdn3                                 internal         enabled    :-)   2014-07-21 06:38:41

nova-network     sdn3                                 internal         enabled    :-)   2014-07-21 06:38:45

nova-compute     sdn3                                 nova             enabled    :-)   2014-07-21 06:38:45

nova-scheduler   sdn3                                 internal         enabled    :-)   2014-07-21 06:38:40

nova-consoleauth sdn3                                 internal         enabled    :-)   2014-07-21 06:38:39

How can I successfully setup the OVS & Floodlight along with OpenStack and create instances??

Regards,

Sanjivini Naikar

Please reedit question headline.

Make sure n-cpu, all openstack services are running and you see availability zone before launch of VM.

In local.conf: Q_OVS_USE_VETH=true
