Finding the exact amount of used RAM in OpenStack's web interface Horizon

asked 2014-07-20 11:00:54 -0600

In OpenStack's web interface Horizon I can see:

Is there any way to have a more precise figure on how much RAM is being used?

The best I have found so far is to look at the page source:

but it only gives me a number rounded at the nearest percentage (here 98%). I would like to know precisely how many GB of RAM are used.

In Project Overview, there is Download csv summary. You can try to download it, and inside you can find active Ram in megabytes, e.g.: Total Active Ram (MB):,2560 (here comma is a separator, ignore it)

hi, T u l . Do you know why ram in horizon showed in GB not in MB? This is not same with DB.

no, I don't; but I guess Horizon is supposed to be user-friendly interface to openstack; and showing shorter numbers (in Gb) is more user-firendly, than to write it, let's say, in bytes (which is more precise, but less "user-friendly")...

You can see the exact amount of used RAM in the pop-up that appears when you click on Launch Instance :
