Hi ,

Can someone explain why there is a difference in CPU info between VM and compute where this VM runs :

CPU of the VM :

less /proc/cpuinfo processor : 0 vendor_id : GenuineIntel cpu family : 6 model : 42 model name : Intel Xeon E312xx (Sandy Bridge) stepping : 1 cpu MHz : 1999.998 cache size : 4096 KB

root@icompute-08:~# less /proc/cpuinfo processor : 0 vendor_id : GenuineIntel cpu family : 6 model : 45 model name : Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2620 0 @ 2.00GHz stepping : 7
microcode : 0x710 cpu MHz : 1200.000 cache size : 15360 KB physical id : 0 siblings : 12 core id : 0 cpu cores : 6 apicid : 0 initial apicid : 0

/Vlad .

This is most likely because your instance is looking at the the cores assigned to it where as your actual compute node is looking at the processor as a whole.

The Intel E5-2620 series does use Sandy bridge cores.
