I'm wondering if it's possible to change a user's password. When I go into 'settings' all I see is 'language' and 'timezone'

This functionality does not appear to be exposed via the dashboard in Grizzly. In Havana builds when the user clicks Settings two items appear in the side bar, User Settings and Change Password. Clicking the latter results in the change password dialog being displayed.

As a workaround use the keystone user-password-update USER command to update the specified user's password.

That's correct, changing your own password was added early on in Havana https://blueprints.launchpad.net/horizon/+spec/change-user-passwords . One should use the keystone client in the meantime.

Update: This only works with Keystone v2. Keystone v3 does not implement yet a method for a user to update their own password. This should be added during Icehouse, see https://blueprints.launchpad.net/keystone/+spec/v3-user-update-own-password

I suggest to update the answer with the last version of the CLI. Using OpenStack CLI now, if you want to change the password for a user, just execute:

openstack user set --password <password> <user>

Keep in mind that you have to set previously the OS_* variables in order to execute the command as well as the OS_USERNAME corresponds to an admin user with permissions to change the password for a user.

Hello! I am using Havana and I don't see the option to change the password from the dashboard. I believe I am using Keystone v2 and not v3. Is there something I need to configure to enable that option from the dashboard. Here's the keystone endpoint I am using.

Really appreciate help!

You might want to ask a new, separate question to make it easier for people to help you. You can make sure you're using Keystone v2 by setting the identity service version to 2.0 in your local_settings.py.
