Not sure if this helps, but the Devstack site advises to use Ubuntu 12.04, rather than 13.04. Ubuntu 12.04 has extended support and has an older version of python. While Ubuntu 13.04 has python 3.3. I don't know if this could be causing some conflict.

Is there any answer for this? I'm getting the same error with 12.04 (3.5.0-23) ...

In addition to checking out the stable/grizzly branch of devstack reset all changes in your nova repo before rerunning stack.sh. i.e.

$  cd /opt/stack/nova
$  git reset HEAD --hard

Please try pulling a stable Grizzly version of your ~/devstack before running stack.sh, e.g.: cd ~/devstack git checkout -b stable_grizzly origin/stable/grizzly

I have tried it with the stable version as well. It is not working. Giving the same error message. I have not tested on 12.04 though. I am using 13.04

I tried with 12.04 but getting the same error. I had one old distribution of devstack which worked fine with the installation process .

It has worked for me on Ubuntu server 13.04...I don't know why it was not working on the desktop version as the kernels are same.
