Hello, I am quite new to OpenStack. I want to write a Nova sub command in the following directory: in "/opt/stack/python-novaclient/novaclient/v1_1/shell.py " which shows the number of running instances, network, images and flavors that are currently running. Any help or direction would be nice as I am new to OpenStack and Python.

I realized that I need to make changes to three files in the following directories, but I am not sure of what to do ?

  • /opt/stack/python-novaclient/novaclient/v1_1/shell.py
  • in /opt/stack/python-novaclient/novaclient/v1_1/servers.py
  • /opt/stack/python-novaclient/novaclient/base.py

Unfortunately there is no simple answer to your question, it would require a complete tutorial that I don't think exists already. My suggestion is for you to read the docs, hang out to ask questions on IRC where other developers may give you some hints on how to proceed where you get stuck.
