Hello guys,

at the moment i'm dealing with an openFlow tutorial http://www.openflow.org/wk/index.php/OpenFlow_Tutorial. It's about building up a network using mininet.

I would like to have a mininet host connected to neutron. Can someone explain what my advantages are using neutron to build up a network? i'm a student and dealing at the moment with SDN. I found out that using neutron makes things easier in SDN. But nobody could explain to me why it is so. Struggling at the moment to find more detailed information.

can you explain better what you are trying to do? What do you mean with 'connecting openflow to quantum' (by the way, the new name for quantum is Neutron)

Maybe he means API compatibility?

Maybe you want to build a Neutron plugin for Mininet? Or have a Mininet host connect to a Neutron network? For the latter have a look at the debug probe https://github.com/openstack/neutron/tree/master/neutron/debug - it might be close.

This article explains how Neutron and SDN can complement each other.
