how to delete a cinder service ?

In a Havana OpenStack cluster some cinder service associated to a host have been deprecated:

root@bm0015:~# cinder-manage service list | grep bm0601
cinder-volume    bm0601     nova             enabled    XXX   2013-12-12 18:41:01
cinder-volume    bm0601     nova             enabled    XXX   2013-12-13 12:03:08
cinder-volume    bm0601     bm0601           enabled    XXX   2014-07-05 08:05:14
cinder-volume    bm0601     bm0601           enabled    :-)   2014-07-05 08:15:31
cinder-volume    bm0601     bm0601           enabled    XXX   2014-07-05 08:05:10
cinder-volume    bm0601     bm0601           enabled    XXX   2014-07-05 08:05:13

how can I remove them ?

Disabling the services to be deleted with

cinder service-disable ...

and then deleting them from the database with

 mysql -e "update services set deleted = 1 where host like 'bm0601%' and disabled = 1 " cinder

worked. But it looks like a brutal way of doing this ;-)

At least at liberty you can also delete that service by cinder-manage service remove BINARY_NAME HOST_NAME compare http://docs.openstack.org/user-guide-admin/cli_cinder_quotas.html#remove-a-service (Remove a service)
