Sir, I did installed swift using Swift 1.9.1-dev documentation (http://docs.openstack.org/developer/swift/howto_installmultinode.html). It works well but when i run swift --version i got swift 1.5.0 and i was expecting version 1.9.I don't know the reason why i didn't got the latest version.I need to enable swift user quota and came to know that it support only in the latest version. How could i accomplish this?

To get 1.9 you'd have to either

  1. download source and build packages yourself
  2. find a maintainer/provider who packages of the latest swift version

On Ubuntu:

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ServerTeam/CloudArchive

On Red Hat:

http://openstack.redhat.com/Quickstart

This is generally the recommended channels to get supported Swift packages. But since you mentioned 1.9 and I think 1.9 is between Grizzly and Havana I should point out that most of these projects are focused on OpenStack releases, which sync the latest Swift release during the Openstack release cycle. Swift may make stable releases between Openstack releases and those may not get packaged up by these projects right away.

I'm not sure if there's any non-commercial packager maintainers focused on interim swift releases.
