I have setup OpenStack on Ubuntu machine (12.04.2 LTS) using devstack. But when I try to install IBM XIV driver (1.3.1), I am getting the below error: 'Cinder', a required component of OpenStack, is not installed.

However I can see that cinder services are running on this machine. Please help me resolve it.

You are using Havana release? You checked requirements for driver from the release notes? IBM XIV Attachment Kit for Linux, JRE, Py4J? More output from logs may help.

No, not Havana. I am using the latest code downloaded last week (using devstack). In the release notes of driver v1.3.1, it is mentioned as Havana. Should I be using only the havana release.?

I also checked the other requirements : IBM XIV® Host Attachment Kit for Linux - is for RHEL. (i am using Ubuntu),

Java and Python requirements - is for DS8000 storage system (I am trying it for XIV).

And which logs you are referring to?

I would try with Havana. In release notes there is mentioned that for different OS release you should use different release of driver. So maybe the 1.3.1 will not work with IceHouse. For logs - you see any more info in cinder logs etc?

Yes, as you said it looks like driver v1.3.1 works only with Havana release. I am able to successfully install driver on Havana.

Thanks for your response.
