#Still Unresolved

I am following this guide

http://docs.openstack.org/icehouse/install-guide/install/yum/content/neutron_initial-external-network.html

which says that the initial network has to be setup on the controller node. But when i followed the steps i am unable to ping to the tenant network at the verification step.

All configuration files and log files can be found at this link

https://github.com/Akshay-Thakare/openstack

Problem:

[root@controller ~]# ping 10.10.10.101

On the controller node the network configuration is,

eth0 static 10.10.10.11
eth1 dhcp 10.0.x.x
gateway 10.10.10.1
netmask 255.255.255.0
Below are the results of the commands i executed

Hi Akshay,

Just try the following steps with the ID instead of the name .

neutron router-interface-add demo-router demo-subnet

neutron router-gateway-set demo-router ext-net

ie, try using the ID of demo-router,demo-subnet and ext-net for the above two command after removing the old settings .

Hi Akshay,

Please try following steps in network node .

ip netns

Above command will give the virtual router's as you can see my output below. From that select the qrouter ID and try command

ip netns exec <qrouter-id> ip addr

ip netns exec <qrouter-id> route -n

The above commands should show IP's in virtual router and routing table of qrouter.

make sure your routing table shown as has a gateway. Or else try setting it using

ip netns exec <qrouter-id> route add default gw ...*

If above doesn't just update the output of above commands.

On the network node run:

neutron net-list

neutron subnet-list

neutron router-list

ip netns

And post the results

Are you using a multinode setup? What about the logs on the network node? Not the controller node.

yes i am using a multi node setup. i have added the new logs to http://cspracs.wordpress.com/openstack/

The network node can't communicate with qpid. Try disabling selinux and iptables to see if this resolves the issue. If it does then you can add security back in a way that will not cause this issue.

Do this on both the network and controller node.

i disabled the firewall and the network node now seems to be communicating with the controller but still no luck with the ping

@HoangDo the command ip netns returns no output on controller

disable the firewall on the controller node as well; that's where it really matters. Have the firewalls not start on boot for both the controller and network and then reboot both nodes.
