Hi Guys,

When I create an image from an external source using --copy-from in glance, it sits in the queue and eventually gets killed. Upon looking at the logs it returns:

Copy From external source failed: [Errno 101] ENETUNREACH

The machine sits behind a proxy so ive set the following in /etc/environment

http_proxy
https_proxy
ftp_proxy
no_proxy

Im not sure if these are being observed by glance. If I try to download with Curl directly it works fine. Glance is using the file backend.

Anyone got any ideas?

Did you check whether the image URL is reachable from glance's box? It sounds like the location you want to copy the image from is not reachable.

We are no longer behind a proxy and adding an image to glance via url works now.
