I solved this problem by changing my compute machine by another .. the first does not support hypervisor ...

When I changed both machines, solve the problem was so simple like configure the new machine and start an instance

Julie Pichon (@jpichon) helped me to solve this here: http://goo.gl/JPjfq

If you are installing grizzly, change this in nova.conf from:

roothelper=sudo nova-rootwrap /etc/nova/rootwrap.conf to rootwrapconfig=/etc/nova/rootwrap.conf

I don't know if that solves the problem entirely but that's one setting I know changed. Let us know if that gets you further.

Thanks annegentle, but I'm installing Folsom, but I will try this too.

Okay, then give some more information: What is the operating system you are installing OpenStack on, and what is the operating system of the guest that you cannot get VNC access to?

Ubuntu Server 12.04 LTS is the operating system where I am trying to install the OpenStack with 3 Node setup, Controller, Compute and Network, I logged in with demo / password credentials and created an instance, I'm using Windows 8 ..

Are you using virtual nodes ? If so, the problem may be simply in your "first level" virtualisation, as I isn't trivial to create virtual instances on an already virtualised structure. I am just beginning in virtualisation, but it seems you can't just start a kvm hypervisor in any virtualised system (I followed this tutorial but couldn't succeed with three virtual machines as nodes).

In this page, they explain how to create an instance in a terminal, which might be much easier to debug.

What hypervisor are you using ? Did you use the same tutorial as mentioned earlier ?

I epillet, thanks for your answer .. I am not using virtual nodes, I am using phisical machines, I will try to create the VM's with that tutorial, I used the same tutorial as you.

One thing to notice: When I run #nova-manage service list nova-network is not available on the list...

And I can not access to "Containers" .. -> "Internal Server Error" from horizon

Then I don't know what could be your problem. The only thing that could help you is that my second link is far more detailed about the possible terminal commands. It could help you to spot the problem in a easier way than with Horizon.

I notice that when I execute: nova keypair-add --pubkey ~/.ssh/idrsa.pu I don't have the /.ssh directory, how can be?

I think you also need to configure the security group here and add the keypair (check its name via nova keypair-list). You have then to use the name you have chosen and not the file.
