Is Quantum scalable?

I've searched through the docs and I'm having trouble figuring out -- Does neutron/quantum support multiple independent network nodes? I'm wanting to deploy a 6-7 node openstack cluster where a number of the instances will be pumping a sizable amount of data from one project to the external network, and I'm concerned that having everything pipe through a single network node isn't going to scale. The docs appear to make it seem like each virtual router can/will only exist in one location -- does that mean that even with multiple Quantum L3 agents, at most one server will be NATing the traffic to the external network?

You are correct in your assessment.

Currently, if you are using the native Open vSwitch based drivers, there can only be one active L3 router for each network. If you have multiple L3 routers you can have them hosted on multiple systems (so you could, in theory, split a /24 up into multiple smaller subnets to distribute the traffic).

You may also be able to solve this problem by using a vendor plugin with Neutron to utilize the features of equipment from Cisco, Juniper, etc, all of which may be able to probide a more scalable solution.

Ah, that's a shame. I see that there's some blueprints + dev work from yong gong, but from what I can see, it never ended up hitting the repository. Perhaps I'll get some downtime to pick up where he left off, I think it would be a very useful feature to have
