Is it possible to run hlinux on VirtualBox ?

Hi folks,

Is it possible to boot hlinux in virtualbox on my laptop??? I would like to have some tests on hlinux box.

  1. How to extract it from HP helion distribution ?
  2. Is there anywhere to download the hlinux ??

Yes, hLinux is a Debian-derivative OS and should run in Virtualbox. You may have issues if you try to install additional debian packages from public repos since it is designed to be as minimal as possible, and does not have many of the standard packages in Ubuntu.

hlinux wasn't designed to use as a standalone OS - it is tied up to the Helion OpenStack distribution by default.
