I have configured icehouse. Everything are working fine except some commands. if I launch cirros image, I can run any command after logging via ssh including vi and top. But when I launch an instance via centOS or Ubuntu image, I can ssh into the particular instance and run commands like ls,touch, etc. But when I run vi or top command , screen hangs. We are using unmanaged 1G switch for management network and ceph block storage to launch the instance. Also i tried with local storage but we are getting same hang issue, when i run vi or top command. I have also ensured the compute node hardware. It has xeon processor and 8Gb RAM.Also i tried with larger instance type. I am running single instance in my cluster. Any Help will be greatly appreciated.

What is your network setup? I have seen this before with mtu issues (caused by bad configuration, double vlans, or any number of things).

From where you are launching ubuntu cloud image?

Also check the flavor given while launching.

Make sure you host has enough RAM to run those images and the commands. It seems to me the larger images die because of lack of resources.
