Instance blank and paused after restart

Hi,

I been struggling to fix a problem since a week, after setting up dashboard i could create a instance from cirros image and it starts but console is blank,next reboot it goes to paused state though it isnt paused, i found this error in the instance log, help appreciated.

Can you try with Ubuntu cloud image link: https://cloud-images.ubuntu.com/

See whether same issue got resolved with ubuntu qcow2 image.

Agree with you. I got almost the same issue some days ago, at last I changed the image, and it became OK.

Which image did you install? can you please name from the description?

Also do you mean replacing the Compute image with this Cloud image? or replace the Cirros Image with this ubuntu cloud image? do you think the error is coming due to an issue with deploying of cirros image?

I did, but no use, the problem according to the log is really with the Compute, i read else where that this is a bug with Sandy Bridge CPU and that previous release of ubuntu server 12.4.4 is working, I'm installing that as compute and check if the problem resolves.

Fixed, i had missed one step in the documentation to change hypervisor to use qemu instead of KVM.

Edit the [libvirt] section in the /etc/nova/nova-compute.conf file to modify this key: [libvirt] ... virt_type = qemu
