how to create instance from self-defined XML config

As title, is it possible to create a instance on openstack from a custom XML configuration(creating by our self) rather than create from auto-generated configuration? thanks, Gavin

Instance Creation Success
A successful instance creation results in following log messages.

and the last one looks a bit outdated, but to_xml() method may be found in

Hence, XML def generation seems to be invollved in process of instance spawning .
My guess the answer is no.
