HI,

I'm having some troubles with the root Disk in Openstack (RDO). I have 3 nodes on my install, 1 controller (with glance, cinder, neutron, nova, swift) and 2 compute nodes (with nova-compute).

When I create VM with root disk the instance cannot see the disks but when I use ephemeral disk the instance see the disks. I can create volume with no error.

I don't know where to look for errors.

Could someone tell me where to look to find the problem ?

Thanks, qmo

Check the firewalls between your cinder and your nova-computes.

ephemeral storage uses the local storage on nova-compute, whereas cinder uses the network to mount the storage, so it could be failing there.

You can find more information by looking in the

/var/log/nova/nova-compute.log

of the compute node where the VM is trying to start.

It's also worth checking the status of cinder, to make sure its worth properly.
