Trying to create an initial subnet (RHEL 6.5):

# neutron subnet-create ext-net --name ext-subnet \ --allocation-pool start=10.xx.xx.120,end=10.xx.xx .150 \ --disable-dhcp --gateway 10.xx.xx.1 10.xx.xx.0/24
Multiple network matches found for name 'ext-net', use an ID to be more specific. [TEST:WOMBAT controller server: root@xxxxxxxxx on parent: /root]

neutron subnet-delete ext-net

Unable to find subnet with name 'ext-net' [TEST:WOMBAT controller server: root@tm1cldctll01 on parent: /root]

neutron subnet-display

Unknown command [u'subnet-display'] [TEST:WOMBAT controller server: root@xxxxxxxxx on parent: /root]

neutron subnet-list

+--------------------------------------+-------------+----------------+--------------------------------------------------+ | id | name | cidr | allocation_pools | +--------------------------------------+-------------+----------------+--------------------------------------------------+ | 3bba93ad-d32d-4288-9525-8c93d637a675 | demo-subnet | | {"start": "", "end": ""} | +--------------------------------------+-------------+----------------+--------------------------------------------------+ [TEST:WOMBAT controller server: root@xxxxxxxxx on parent: /root]

Any idea why I might be seeing this?

$ neutron net-list
How many ext-net entries ?

Detail on the order of events that resuted in this:

  1. Had difficulty with intitial run of neutron net-create ext-net.... due to bad Rabbit Password but finally solved
  2. Ran command above and same results.
  3. neutron net-list results in 4 entries only 1 which matches result of step 1

In meantime :-
1. Delete sub_network for ext-net and network ext-net
$ neutron net-list
$ neutron subnet-list
2. Create exterternal network ext-net ( for instance)
$ neutron net-create ext-net --router:external=True
$ neutron subnet-create ext-net --name vlan --enable_dhcp False \
--allocation_pool start= ,end= \
3. neutron floatingip-create ext-net
4. Reassign as external gateway for router
See what happens then ?

Deleteing the extra networks worked but I ran into another issue with create-router - seems a different one so I started a new topic:
