I am facing one issue while adding the gateway with the API in neutron. I have searched and found that this is a bug with HAVANA version. Now they have provided some patch to resolve it. My question is how to patch the bug in live openstack environment. Please check the below link and suggest the process to resolve it.

If you look at the patch to which you've linked the changes it makes are minimal:

You could simply download the file from the remote repository and replace your local file. Since this is a patch to the client, you shouldn't need to restart any of your services.

It is also possible that new packages will be available shortly from your distribution vendor, if they aren't already.

What do you mean by local file?

Please provide the descriptive process to patch.

I am bit confused with the suggested process.

But what with bigger changes? Also simple change files?

local file means "the file on the host running the service you're trying to patch". I am suggesting replacing the currently installed file with the modified file from the remote repository, which really just boils down to running cp or mv, which ought to be simple.

Maydex: For more substantive changes, I would normally suggest waiting for updates from your distribution or replacing your distribution package with a source install (rather than playing mix-and-match). Your choices depend a lot on your local environment and how much risk you're willing to accept.
