Hello All , I'm working on a fresh install of icehouse , i installed and configured the Ml2 plugin. If i understand correctly, the documentation recommends using the ML2 plugin over open VSwich OVS plugin. I am at the point in the setup doc where its going to have me set up the open switch plugin. There is a warning, recommending i implement ML2 plugin on icehouse.

My question is , do I need to follow this step or am I ok to skip it?

from the setup doc, on RHEL/Centos "Open vSwitch (OVS) plug-in Warning We suggest that you implement the Modular Layer 2 (ML2) plug-in on Icehouse until we completely test the traditional Open vSwitch (OVS) plug-in."

It may be an obvious question, but its my first time doing a manual setup.

You need follow this steps. View this guide

Per mentioned reference:-
The IPv6 support in Neutron L3 router isn't ready yet but, things are different when you don't need it. With ML2 , you can have a dual-stacked environment with Single Flat Network

You may also view Modular Layer 2 (ML2) plugin enhancements
