Can I export an OpenStack VM and import it into VirtualBox

I've seen in the OpenStack docs that many image formats are supported such as (vdi used by VirtualBox). Is it possible to export a VM from OpenStack and import it into VirtualBox on another server?

The use-case is for our sales team who often need to perform product demos without access to the internet. An application can be built and configured inside of OpenStack then be exported and deployed onto a laptop either as a backup in case internet connection is slow or if no internet access is available.

If any issues occurs due to VM location or format compatibility issue. The best way is to install Devstack in one of Virtual Box VM running locally on laptop. Then using Horizon dashboard upload the image. This helps sales team to demonstrate Cloud within Laptop.

Thanks.

What you will have to do is download the image from glance via the command line then convert it from RAW or QCOW2 to VDI. I have done lost of conversions into openstack but never tried to the other way but it should work fine. Here are a few links that may help out.

Also looks like you can convert on the Virtualbox end as well once you get the image out of glance.
